The St. Helens Concert Band consists of woodwind, brass and percussion players from all age groups representing many different walks of life. The band plays a large range of music from the classics to themes from the latest films as well as the occasional popular number.

The range of ability in the band varies from beginners to semi-professional standard - it is naturally very beneficial for the beginners to play with more accomplished musicians which enables them to progress much more quickly, and players wishing to broaden their musical experience are very welcome.

The Band plays at a range of events and venues from large public concerts through to private parties as well as our own music festivals involving local schools and community groups. The ethos of the Band is summed up in our slogan: 'the local musical experience'

If you are interested in playing with the the band please contact Keith to arrange to come along for a Wednesday practice.   If you want to hire the band please contact Keith for details - the band does play a limited number of concerts each year in support of charity fund raising at a reduced price, so if you have a fund raising event where we can help, do get in touch.

The band is supported by the Harry & Mavis Pilkington Foundation Fund for Arts & Leisure, by The National Lottery through 'Awards For All' and by the Rainford Trust.
